I have been invited to be one of four American poets reading the English language translations of poetry by four visiting Russian poets, who will read their work in their native language:

Reception: 6:30pm; Reading 7:00pm
George Washington University, Gelman Library
2130 H Street, NW, Rm. 207, Washington, DC
Russian poets: Dmitry Golynko, Lev Oborin, Andrei Rodionov, and Andrei Sen-Senkov.
American poets: Bernadette Geyer, Mel Belin, Yvette Neisser and one GWU student TBA.
Full details, including bios of the visiting poets can be found at

I am thrilled to be participating in this event, which is part of the Open World Cultural Leaders Program between the U.S. and Russia. The program -- funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts -- "enables emerging Russian leaders in the arts to experience America's cultural and community life and to work with their American counterparts."
